Who You Are
A Placement Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with policies related to the placements of children and young people, managing the accommodation and care packages for them, and maintaining high-quality planning and placements for Lewisham’s looked after children.
What the job involves
- Ensuring the Council’s policies and contracting requirements for child placements are followed.
- Providing placement services through collaboration with various teams and agencies.
- Contributing to planning, monitoring, and evaluating placements and services for children.
- Liaising with providers and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducting quality assurance and providing professional advice regarding services.
Skills
- Knowledge of children’s legislation and standards
- Proven communication skills
- Experience in placements or commissioning settings
- Negotiation and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
