You possess the ability to handle complex and sensitive cases, effectively implementing statutory obligations and Council policies. As an authorised officer, you have the expertise to provide guidance and advice on planning enforcement matters and can serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
What the Job Involves
Your role involves investigating and addressing complaints regarding planning law infringements, advising on procedures for obtaining planning permission, and ensuring compliance with enforcement notices. You assist Planning Officers, provide expertise to junior team members, and advise on legislation changes. Responsibilities include acting as an expert witness, managing information and complaints, ensuring compliance with policies and safety regulations, and keeping abreast of developments in planning legislation and technology.
