Who You Are
You are an experienced professional who can provide skilled, trauma-informed, and relationship-based support to children, young people, and families facing complex and escalating needs. You possess a strong understanding of safeguarding children, child development, and trauma and are capable of building rapport with families using empathy and persistence. Your leadership skills enable you to mentor junior staff, manage complex cases, and offer professional advice, all while upholding high practice standards and promoting equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.
What the job involves
The role involves providing targeted interventions and coordinating multi-agency plans to improve outcomes for families, aiming to prevent escalation into statutory social care. You will conduct whole-family assessments, deliver direct work sessions with children and families focusing on safety and resilience, and develop and coordinate Family Plans. Case management is a key responsibility, handling complex cases and facilitating multi-agency meetings. Collaboration with partners such as schools, health professionals, and police is essential. As a leader, you will mentor Family Help Support Workers, contribute to training and ensure all work adheres to safeguarding procedures.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads under pressure
- Good IT skills, including case management systems
- Desirable: Experience in a senior or mentoring role
