Are you passionate about improving the quality of care for children and young people? We are seeking a skilled, proactive Social Worker to join Lewisham’s Care Resources service on a temporary basis. This role is vital for ensuring that every child in various care settings receives safe, high-quality, and child-centered support. You will bring your experience, insight, and heart to a team dedicated to protecting and empowering young people.
What the Job Involves
As a Social Worker in our Care Resources service, you will:
- Lead and deliver quality assurance visits across the provider network in London and the South East, with some nationwide travel.
- Evaluate care standards, identify areas for improvement, and set outcome-focused actions.
- Collaborate with providers to sustain improvements and ensure progress.
- Support colleagues in fostering, kinship, SGO, and placement teams to strengthen practice and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and best practice standards.
- Develop and present reports based on the outcomes of quality assurance visits.
Skills
- Qualified and registered Social Worker
- Strong safeguarding, quality assurance, and assessment experience
- Background in fostering, kinship, SGO, residential, or placement services
- Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Confidence to provide constructive professional challenge and influence practice
- Commitment to ensuring children's voices are central and their needs consistently met
