Who You Are
You are an experienced and qualified social worker familiar with the statutory guidance for Independent Reviewing Officers (IRO). You must be registered with SW England and hold a current enhanced DBS. You are well-organized, self-sufficient, and capable of managing your time effectively. You have the ability to consider the ethics and values of practice with a focus on anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice.
What the Job Involves
The Independent Reviewing Officer will be responsible for reviewing the Care Plans for Children in Care, regardless of their location, which requires travel, sometimes over long distances. The IRO is tasked with organizing Review meetings and Reports within set timescales while liaising with social workers to confirm arrangements. Flexibility is necessary to best include children, parents, and carers in the process. The role also involves monitoring the progression of Care Plans and raising any alerts if required.
