Childrens Senior SW - (Family Support & Safeguarding)

Family Safeguarding & Support Social Worker Location: Lewisham children social care Contract: Temporary /short term.   Start date: 20/02/2026 About the Role We are seeking a passionate and skilled Family Safeguarding & Support Social Worker to join our specialist multidisciplinary team within the family help service. This role focuses on supporting and protecting children and families, affected by parental substance misuse and mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver holistic, family-focused interventions that reduce risk, promote resilience, and help families thrive. Key Responsibilities Undertake integrated child and family assessments, develop and implement family-focused safety plans Deliver targeted interventions to safeguard children and strengthen family relationships Work closely with partner agencies including, substance misuse agencies, health, education, housing, and voluntary sector partners Attend multi-agency child protection conferences, pre-proceedings, and court hearings. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practice

About You Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration Experience in child protection and family support, ideally within safeguarding frameworks and court work. Strong assessment, communication, and multi-agency collaboration skills Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and families
