Role

Who You Are

We are seeking a highly motivated, child-centred Supervising Social Worker to join our in-house Fostering Support and Development Service, supervising mainstream carers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Lewisham's newly developed Fostering Hub. You will collaborate closely with children's social workers and other professionals to meet the needs of the children in our care.

What the Job Involves

You will be responsible for supervising social work on both allocated and short-term cases. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all work and ensuring service users know their rights.
  • Producing case reports and correspondence for various audiences.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, guidance, and legislation.
  • Addressing the needs of service users/carers from all communities, with a focus on equality.
  • Participating in duty systems, including some out-of-hours work.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with relevant agencies.
  • Using Information Technology to input data as needed.
  • Ensuring the safety of team members and other staff.
  • Participating fully in supervision as per Department policy.
