Who You Are

You are a seasoned social worker with a passion for empowering individuals and fostering independence. Your experience includes managing caseloads effectively and providing supervisory support to a group of staff within a large team. You are skilled in risk management and safeguarding, including children's safeguarding when relevant. You excel in promoting prevention and personalisation while adopting a strength-based approach to case management.

What the Job Involves

  • Collaborate as part of a multi-agency team to ensure seamless service delivery to users and their carers.
  • Embed risk management and adult safeguarding in practice, while liaising with Children's Social Care Services as needed.
  • Promote self-help initiatives and a strength-based assessment approach in professional practice.
  • Focus on improving independence and personalisation outcomes by promoting enablement and linking users to community support services.
  • Facilitate self-directed support and outcome-based support planning with service users and carers.
  • Manage personal caseloads and those delegated by the operational manager.
  • Act as “Safeguarding Adults Manager” in designated cases, ensuring the safeguarding process is thoroughly concluded.
  • Conduct high-standard assessments and service user reviews in a timely manner.
  • Present cases to the Vulnerable Adults panel for funding.
  • Chair complex case reviews and safeguarding adults' case conferences.
  • Offer professional supervision to social work staff, ensuring alignment with departmental policies.
  • Monitor and appraise performance and conduct of supervised staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Foster positive teamwork and promote joint working across departments and with health colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, guidance, procedures, and policies, especially in safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Update technical knowledge and lead specific practice areas as required.
  • Adhere to HCPC standards and Council policies, deputizing for the operational manager when needed.
